ABC COUNTDOWN
DAY 'C"
https://youtu.be/5QOGODMuhW0

We miss our students greatly, as a classroom is like a family. We laugh and learn together, we play and have disagreements. We take a journey for nine months and often spend more waking hours with our RILEY classmates than we do our at-home families. We miss you all and want to stay connected as much as we can.
Here is a photo of a third grade art project. Thank you, Ms. Moore for providing opportunities for our students to tap into some different ways of learning. Thank you to all of our teachers for continuing to provide a well-rounded education for all of our RILEY students.
Please share more photos of our RILEY students learning and creating in different ways.

School building will remain closed for in-person instruction for the remainder of the school year. See our News section

Governor Pritzker has announced he will be signing a proclamation extending the emergency shelter-in-place order, which also would extend the school closure until the end of April. We will continue as we move forward with our Remote Learning Plan until that time.

Late this afternoon, Governor Pritzger issued a directive stating all schools in Illinois will be closed starting Tuesday, March 17th. Students will be in school on Monday the 16th in order to help facilitate the implementation of an E-Learning protocol. Thank you for helping us to implement this change in educational services for your children. More detailed information will be coming out soon. We appreciate you patience in this unprecedented situation.

Please check your email for the message from Superintendent Conkling regarding the E-Learning Survey.

Dear Riley Parents:
In light of everything that is happening in the world, our state, and our county, we are working to make preparations for possible school closures in the future. There is no plan to close at this time, but we want to prepare for any possible scenarios. Since a closure would most likely mean extended time out of school, we are trying to assess our ability to provide continuity of instruction through electronic means. As part of this process, we have sent out a survey that asks specific questions about the technology you have at home and that students would be able to access during regular school hours if school was closed. It is imperative that we receive responses from all families in order to make informed decisions and to have a true understanding of what is possible. For those of you without email addresses, we will be sending home paper copies of the survey tomorrow with your children. Thank you for taking the time to do this in order to help your children receive the best educational opportunities possible. Please click on the link below to access the survey.
